Some tips to improve the pronunciation of the English language

Having good pronunciation in English has become a big challenge for most of students. It is because teachers have decided don’t teach it in the classroom. If you want to read a little more about this problem you can read my previous Blog. 

Tips to improve your pronunciation:

1. Learn to listen:

There are many guides that will help you to learn to listen. such as listen from movies. You can find some exercises online as Rong-Chang.

2. Listen to Radio:

Gone are the days when radios were used. But now the time has come back for the use of Radio. Listen to English News on Radio. If you are interested in music, listen to it on the Radio.

3. Take the help of a Dictionary:

There are many dictionaries wich will help you to learn how to pronounce the words.

4. Record yourself:

One way to tell if all your practice is working is to record yourself with a camera. Use a camera and not just a sound recorder because it’s important to see how you speak, not only hear it.

5. Learn some Phonetics:

I consider it is the most important tip. You must have some knowledge of Phones i.e. sounds. In English there are 44 sounds - 20 Vowel Sounds and 24 Consonants sounds. This system of phones can be learnt from the books of various classes where the topic of Phonetics is given. Learn them and improve your pronunciation.
